“Rabbit” September 2016

With another challenging shoot, this time the weather played havoc. Some of the biggest storms on record made location shooting even harder than usual.
For this production another successful service combining the rolls of Data and Stills. For the producers having me on set for the entire shoot meant they had a huge selection of images, more images can be viewed at www.ianroutledge.com

Working the streets of Adelaide at night – “Boys In the Trees” shoot

Working nights can be challenging, apart from the lack of sleep and feeling as if just off a long haul flight, there’s not much light – this gave me the opportunity to test my new camera the amazing Sony A7r ii, it performed better than I expected, these stills can be viewed on my website www.ianroutledge.com

This all whilst managing the data from my vehicle – set up in the rear of the my 4WD did get cosy but at least I was warm.

Not only Data, but also photos

Night shoots finishing at 4am (5am for me!), biblical rain, mud, freezing cold certainly made this shoot challenging, so why not also shoot the Stills whilst managing the Data. With a little planning, a big warm jacket and lots of hot coffee it can be done.

Sleep is so over rated; Jim Loach feature film

With amazing locations, crazy hours, not getting to sleep until 3-4am most nights, this feature film shoot was tough. 2 weeks in the Barossa, 2 weeks in a studio and to finish 2 incredible weeks in the Flinders Ranges, the finale reminded me why I love this job.

Danger 5, series 2

Fresh off the boat from 10 years of London life, I knew nothing about the SBS tv series Danger 5.

Day 1: Hitler is playing handball in an 80’s American High school

This was going to be an interesting job….

Bangkok – Dove

First time I went to Bangkok I hated it, this time not so much, maybe it’s all about where you stay and go, also great to catch up with a good photographer mate Anthony Edwin.

The shoot was pretty easy going, helped by 8 assistants setting up the lighting and computers.
